National newspaper critic lavishes praise on restaurant
A RENOWNED food critic has delivered high praise for one of the city centre's newst restaurants, describing it a 'beacon' of the city.
Skof is the debut solo venture from chef Tom Barnes and first opened its doors last month. Housed in a former drapery in the Hanover Building in the city centre's NOMA district, near Victoria Station, the venue won prestigious praise from the National Restaurant Awards just days after opening.
It features multi-course tasting menus that bring together Tom's modern British cooking with a twist, and focus on skill, quality ingredients and simplicity. Due to its immediate popularity, the restaurant is currently fully booked until October.
