Police hit with a bat

A man who walked into a vape shop armed with a cricket bat later got into a fight with police outside.

But a court was told the police officers involved had “attacked” Greg Adcock and he was just using “excessive self-defence” when two officers were struck by the bat.

Adcock, 49, entered the Flawless Vape store in Market Street, Loughborough, in September, with the bat in his hands and a lock knife in his pocket.

Leicester Magistrates’ Court heard there was an altercation inside the shop but Adcock went to sit outside the shop when police were called.
