'Playground has been poisoned'

CHILDREN are being put at risk while they play by weedkiller deliberately sprayed on their Kegworth playground.

This is the belief of Coun Wally Queich, planning chairman of North West Leicestershire District Council, who is fighting to save Stafford Close play area for local youngsters.

And Coun Queich believes the worn patches in the play area are down to some body who wants to stop children playing there.

Coun Queich said: “This is adult vandalism and it is scandalous. Residents complain about kids breaking down their fences but they have lived next to the play council.

“Weedkillers are dangerous and they burn.”
