THIS May half-term, the National Trust has plenty to entertain little explorers, whether they like to delve into history, discover nature or enjoy a mix of both.

Entertaining little explores at the National Trust this half term

There is a whole host of activities, events, and trails available to get stuck into.

Get closer to nature with pond dipping experiences, step back in time at living history events, be creative with crafts, or enjoy storytelling sessions in picturesque surroundings.

And those feeling more active can bring the family on a cycle ride.

To find out more about the family events and activities taking place at National Trust places this half-term visit: https://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/

Ilam Park and Dovedale, Peak District

Families can get creative over at Ilam Park as well as at Dovedale.

The whole family can get involved in sketching stunning views, experiencing different flora and fauna, and collecting memories within a keepsake personalised Nature Journal. The cost is £3 per journal. The activities take place between 25 May and 1 June, between 10am and 2.30pm. Details can be found on www.nationaltrust.org.uk/ilam

The Children's Country House at Sudbury, Ashbourne

With activities running from 23 May to 2 June, there's something for everyone at The Children's Country House at Sudbury. Get creative with writing and craft workshops, see which blossom you can spot in a Hall trail, and join in with classic garden games in the Stableyard like Connect Four and badminton (weather permitting). Step inside the Hall to learn all about the former home of the Vernon family and explore childhood through the ages in the Museum. There's also chance to stop by the Parlour and Cafe for a treat - including delicious ice cream from local Bluebells Dairy.
