Seilin & Co., the company behind Blue Blue and Blue Blue Japan, has grown from a small used-clothing shop in Tokyo into a respected manufacturer and retailer anchored in Japanese craftsmanship and cultural philosophy.

The company’s roots trace back to 1967, when the founder traveled to the United States and was struck by the expressive styles of the hippie movement.
Hawaiian shirts, chambray, and denim overalls revealed how clothing could carry sentiment and storytelling power, a perspective then foreign to Japan. In 1972, this inspiration materialized into the flagship store, Hollywood Ranch Market at Sendagaya, that became the seed of today's enterprise.
