FIRM VOWS TO ACT ON SCATTERED SCOOTERS

THE Estonian firm behind the new fleet of scooters in Liverpool have vowed to ‐get this sorted‐ after new images showed the hire vehicles scattered across the city.

- By DAVID HUMPHREYS

Liverpool is the first city in this country to host Bolt’s scooters, which operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

They launched 2,000 of the two-wheeled hire vehicles alongside 150 e-bikes in February, taking over from previous operator Voi.

This represented an extension of the service into wider areas of the city, as far as Speke and Garston.

After new images seen by the ECHO showed scooters and bikes strewn over the pavement on Radnor Place, a Bolt spokesperson said repeat offenders would be penalised.

Resident Don Porter expressed his dismay after he saw a host of vehicles left carelessly on the pavement at Radnor Place, in Tuebrook.

He said: ‐About six years ago, electric scooters were introduced as a trial, how long will this trial last?

‐If these were privately owned, they would not be left on the streets. This image is from Radnor Place but they are abandoned everywhere.‐

In a statement, a Bolt spokesperson said: ‐We have people out in Liverpool every day whose job is to find and repark vehicles like these. We'll get this sorted.‐
