Alder Hey fundraiser's anger after mix-up puts his display on hold
A DAD who spends thousands of pounds decorating his home for Halloween to raise money for Alder Hey Children's Hospital has had to put his display on hold thanks to a "mix-up" by Asda.
John Sawtell, from Prescot, says he "loves" Halloween and every year spends thousands decorating his home with his wife.
John's spooky decor started out with a "few bits" and over the years has grown into a huge display, that has cost him thousands. This year, he decided to order two new "props" from George at Asda to add to his display.
He said: "I'd spotted these two drops online, they were quite cheap, one was a butler and one was a girl, dressed in black and holding a brown teddy bear [described on George website as Halloween Animated 3ft Haunted Doll]. I ordered them from George, I got the confirmation as normal, with a picture of each item confirming what I'd ordered.
"They were due to get delivered a few days later. I got an email saying 'sorry, there's a delay with your George order' I didn't think anything of it, then a few days later my order arrived."
