Killer still at large 15 years after dad, 42, was stabbed to death in his garden

- By WESLEY HOLMES

TODAY marks exactly 15 years since a dad-of-two was stabbed to death by an unknown assailant after going to investigate a strange noise in his back garden.

When Colin Hughes went outside on the night of September 21, 2010, nobody could have foreseen the terrible, tragic consequences.

Colin's fiancee Paula Greenwood found the 42-year-old stabbed in the chest after he had gone out to investigate the disturbance at the rear of his home in Baden Road, Old Swan.

Ambulance services raced to the scene, but Colin's life could not be saved and he died in the arms of his devastated fiancee.

Ten people were arrested and questioned in connection with his murder. But 15 years on, nobody has ever been charged, and the killer remains at large.
