Rooney reveals partial deafness - and Freddie stint

FORMER Everton and England striker Wayne Rooney has claimed he is deaf in one of his ears, with him struggling on flagship football highlights show Match of the Day.

Rooney, who played for Everton and Manchester United during an illustrious football career, opened up on his health issue which means he has to have his earpiece in a different ear than others during punditry jobs.

While pointing to his right ear on a Behind the Scenes episode of Match of the Day, the 40-year-old said: "Can I do it in this ear? I used to close the talkback.

"The problem is I'm deaf in my left ear.
