Revamp plan for long-empty 'special' boating pond

ONE of the central features of a Merseyside model village is set for a full scale revamp after years of people asking what was happening to it.

The boating pond in the Port Sunlight village on the Wirral has been empty for five years due to significant structural issues but now the 90 year old pond and its fountain are set to come back in use.
The Port Sunlight VIllage Trust, which looks after the village, has applied to Wirral Council for planning permission as part of a major £300,000 restoration plan.
