EVERTON manager David Moyes has shared his thoughts on the anniversary of The Friedkin Group’s takeover of the club.

- By PAUL WHEELOCK

One year ago the American group completed their buyout of the Blues. One of group's first major decisions was to bring back Moyes as Everton manager after the departure of Sean Dyche. The Scot led the club to safety last season and this season has made the ambitious aim, after years of off-the-field turmoil and relegation battles, of pushing for Europe.

The Blues sit ninth in the league table, two points off Crystal Palace in fifth and four behind Chelsea in fourth after a positive start to the campaign.

And at his press conference to preview tonight's match, Moyes was asked about the Friedkins. He said: "First of all we have to thank them for coming in and saving the club in many ways.
