More than just forward thinking for Moyes ahead of Palace clash

Until his playmaker picked up the fifth yellow card of his season, the Blues boss was set for the same dilemma that he faced heading into the home match with West Ham United - Beto or Thierno Barry?

That question is still relevant. Beto won the battle to start on Monday night but this was another game in which he failed to catch the eye.

Some of that was down to the type of service he was receiving, but he is so far struggling to grab attention with anything he is doing to help himself.

Barry was introduced from the bench as Everton sought a winner against Moyes' old club but he, too, did not find a route to goal.
