Let there be LIGHTS

THE new name for a much-loved Liverpool baby hospice - which was the subject of a citywide campaign to keep it open - was revealed on a huge night of music and celebration.

Zoe's Place in West Derby was facing closure last October, but a huge effort from people across Liverpool and beyond saw millions of pounds raised across a memorable month to safeguard the future of a facility that provides vital care for very poorly babies, children and their families.

Following that campaign, a new charity was formed to take on the running of the Liverpool hospice, meaning a new name was needed. The new board of trustees have been asking the people of the city to submit their ideas in recent months.

Last night, as a celebration of the extraordinary campaign and to mark the new era for the hospice, a huge concert was held at the M&S Bank Arena, featuring legendary performers like The Zutons, Ian McCulloch and The Real Thing.

And as the climax to the night of celebration, it was announced on stage what the new name of the hospice will be, after thousands of entries were submitted by the public.

The Liverpool hospice charity will now be called Little Lights - Liverpool Baby Hospice, as it begins its new era thanks to the efforts of the people of the city and beyond.
