'Kindest' dad dies following scooter crash

MAN SUFFERED SERIOUS HEAD INJURY IN HOLIDAY ACCIDENT
A DAD who went on holiday to Turkey and suffered a severe head injury after a scooter crash has died.
Earlier this month, the family of John Kearney, from Birkenhead, were told to travel more than 2,500 miles to Icmeler, in Marmaris, to say their goodbyes to the 64-year-old after he suffered a serious head injury in a road accident.
On the evening of Tuesday, September 30, John was making his way back to the hotel he was staying in when he fell off the rental scooter he was riding.
He was taken to a nearby hospital, where he spent almost two weeks fighting for his life.
His daughter Joanna Kearney previously described the heartbreaking phone call she received, alerting her to what had happened.
