ALEXANDER Isak has vowed to “fight” his way back to the form that made him a £125m Liverpool striker at the start of September. And the most expensive footballer in British history denies he is enduring the toughest spell of his career.

Isak moved to Merseyside after a summer-long saga with Newcastle United.

The No.9 played no part in Newcastle's preseason programme as a result of the acrimonious departure from the North East.

That meant he wasn’t up to 100% when he completed his mega-money move to Anfield on transfer deadline day.

The 26-year-old, who also suffered a groin injury in October that sidelined him for a month, has only scored one Premier League goal for Liverpool, in the 2-0 win at West Ham United in late November, and so far he looks way off the player he was at Newcastle, where he scored 23 times last season.
