'Garner should stay with Blues'

FORMER Everton star Pat Nevin believes James Garner should ignore interest from elsewhere as he moves towards a new Everton deal.

The midfielder is enjoying a stellar season at the heart of David Moyes' plans, the 24-year-old having become one of his boss’ most trusted players after maintaining a high level throughout the campaign.

Those performances have enabled Moyes' calls for Garner to earn a senior England call-up to gather momentum and his impressive display in the win over Aston Villa on Sunday came with international manager Thomas Tuchel watching from the stands. His form has also, predictably, led to speculation that clubs including Manchester United, the club whose academy he rose through, are now tracking his progress.
