Fans prove Dibling has the RIGHT Blues backing

ONE of the loudest cheers from the home stands against Arsenal came midway through the second half.

Tyler Dibling’s introduction to the contest did not prove pivotal - he was unable to inspire Everton to a fightback against a Gunners team that were too good to be troubled by the Blues once they were gifted the lead from the penalty spot after a bizarre first-half handball from Jake O’Brien.

But it was a moment that felt as though it could be a turning point for the teenager, who has struggled to launch his Everton career since his summer arrival was the catalyst for further excitement over the rebuild gathering pace at Finch Farm.

The coming weeks represent a major opportunity for Dibling.

Moyes’ caution over exposing the England youth international to the first team has been intriguing and, at times, frustrating. But there is no escaping one of the most significant factors - Iliman Ndiaye has been sublime on the right wing so far this season.

Everton’s joint top goalscorer and a source of pressure-releasing breakaways and defence bursting dribbles, Ndiaye’s feats this season have seen him capture the imagination of supporters - and scouts - across the Premier League and Europe.

There was no guarantee that would be the case.

Everton spent the summer chasing specialist right wingers without success, failing in efforts to land the likes of Francisco Conceicao, Johan Bakayoko, Malick Fofana and Abdul Fatawu.

That left Moyes with a problem when the season began.

Ndiaye was a standout player in his first season on Merseyside but the 25-year-old’s exploits came from the left, which appears to be his favoured position.

There was danger the arrival of Jack Grealish and willingness to push Ndiaye out of position to accommodate his talent would tear apart the one element of Everton’s attack that actually performed to a consistently high standard last season.

Instead, both have excelled - helped by the emergence of talisman Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall in the central attacking midfield role between them.
