Ex-cop who contacted sex workers is barred

AN ex-Merseyside Police constable has been barred from policing after contacting sex workers on over 80 occasions.
-
He contacted sex workers between December 2020 and August 2022, including 30 times while on duty.
The officer, who cannot be named due to an anonymity ruling being granted at a Merseyside Police misconduct hearing on Friday, was found to have made visits to areas frequented by sex workers. Cash withdrawals against the officer's bank account also correlated with visits to these areas.
