A MARRIED couple said it was a 'no-brainer' for them when the opportunity came up to take over a bar not far from where they live.

Richie and Hazel Pitt are the new owners of Liscard’s The Scrap Yard and are hitting the ground running.

The two explained how the venue was already known as a ‘unique hot-spot’ with a big personality, becoming a go-to destination with the community for entertainment, food and drink.

With this in mind, they told the ECHO how they want to build on the company’s already established success, while adding to the community spirit.

Dad-of-three Richie, from Wallasey, said: “Previous owner Claire did a great job here and built a great reputation for The Scrap Yard over many years, whilst we've been running The Coffee Roast at Vale Park.
