£300k fund for police to boost city centre safety

LIVERPOOL is to benefit from a £300,000 funding boost to tackle crime and antisocial behaviour in the city centre.

The Hyper-Local Policing Fund, awarded by the Home Office, will support a series of targeted interventions in four high-priority zones - Chavasse Park, St George's Quarter, Ropewalks and Mathew Street.

These are aimed at preventing knife crime, violence and robbery.
