The end of a long season arrived for St Patrick’s FP on Saturday as they secured promotion to the Premier with a thumping home win.
-
Saints started quickly as they tried to get an early lead, which almost happened after four minutes when Lewis Lobban rattled the Riverside bar with the keeper stranded.
However, they didn't have to wait long and in the ninth minute they took the lead. A short corner from Doherty played in McElroy and his cross was smashed home at the front post by Lobban.
The home side weren't hanging around and a couple of minutes later, they were two goals to the good.
Determined play by Carmouche set up McColl and he gave the keeper no chance with a low shot into the net.
Saints were well on top but had to wait until the half hour mark to score again. Good play by McElroy sent Havelin charging into the box and his cross was knocked home by Lobban.
