Singing praises of dad and daughter

A father and daughter fundraising duo from the Vale were hailed as “pillars of the community” after raising hundreds for a vital local disability group.

Alana Wright's street party performances proved a big hit across the area, with the talented singer raising thousands for good causes and brightening spirits during lockdown.

And after her dad, Allan, spotted a Facebook post from Iain Brown of the Vale of Leven’s Enable group, they became the latest local charity to benefit from Alana’s performances collecting £370 from Dave Wallace's 70th birthday street party.

Iain told the Lennox: “At the club we have a bit of money, but we don't get money like the big charities. We've got to go out and find it.

“We usually get funding from local pubs, our chairman Jim MacKinnon is a member of Vale of Leven Golf Club and they do tournaments.
