Sons boss building for next season and wants Webster and Kelly to stick around
It was another memorable afternoon to add to a season seemingly full of them for Dumbarton after the Sons survived a second-half bombardment - and even a fire alarm - to keep up their good form with victory over Annan.
But with a difficult League One campaign set to finally wrap up this weekend at Stenhousemuir, boss Stevie Farrell is already looking to next season's League Two campaign, including retaining two of his loan stars.
Rangers loanee Kristian Webster has excelled at right-back since joining in January, whilst St Mirren kid Shay Kelly made it four penalties faced without conceding when he denied Tommy Goss on Saturday.
Faz said: "Shay is a very confident kid and backs his ability. That was shown with the penalty save.
"We've already spoken about trying to get him back here next season. We're working on that and we're working on keeping Kristian Webster as well.
"We believe that we've got players who would excel in League Two.
"We're a wee bit late in getting that done because of the ownership situation. But we're now in a position to hopefully get after that in the next few weeks."
Farrell also hailed the depth and impact of his squad after the introduction of fresh legs off the bench helped Dumbarton to the win after Ryan Blair's first-half goal was cancelled out by Tommy Goss on the hour.
