Farrell is still aiming for some more firepower

Dumbarton boss Stevie Farrell believes his hastily assembled side are just short of some firepower.

A hectic week that saw 11 new signings confirmed as the club's takeover by Canadian businessman Mario Lapointe was completed, ended with a 4-0 defeat to Premiership St Mirren at The Rock.

But Sons boss Faz was upbeat, despite the scoreline, admitting that he's still on the hunt for attacking reinforcements-with a loan deal for Ayr United winger Scott Tomlinson set to be sealed this week.

He said: "That's more beneficial to us than playing a lower league team and scoring six or seven goals. I like to play higher league opposition because it's good fitness wise, but also intelligence wise.

"It was a great physical and game intelligence lesson for us.
