Author Paul helped kids thrive across globe

An Alexandria author was preparing to work with schools 12,000km apart in 2015 as part of a project with children in Bali and Christie Park Primary.

Successful novelist Paul Murdoch was set to travel to a remote island in Bali in May that year to work with children who attend the six schools in its villages.

Alongside the East Bali Project, Paul would spend his trip teaching the children to read and write, and will help them to produce their own picture book on sanitation, nutrition and hygiene. And, while he was on his travels, he planned to send regular updates to pupils in Christie Park—and hoped that by giving the children a window into each other's worlds, it will teach both groups of pupils about other cultures.
