RUUD van Nistelrooy “can always do with” Jamie Vardy but has to respect the striker’s wishes to end his Leicester City career tomorrow and miss the final game, writes

Vardy will bow out this weekend when City host Ipswich in their last home match of the campaign. It will be the striker's 500th appearance for the club.

It means Vardy will not feature when City travel to Bournemouth on the final day of the season, even with prize money on the line.

No matter what happens at the King Power Stadium tomorrow, the battle with the Tractor Boys for 18th place will go to the final fixture, when City are away to the Cherries and Kieran McKenna’s side host West Ham.
