Reasonable chance of cracking the Bristol conundrum

MY colleague Adam Whitty wrote a Leicester Tigers season preview piece for the BBC. He joked that he was severely edited to take out all the uses of “don't know"!

That's not a criticism, it is an accurate reflection of where Leicester are as we approach the new PREM season. A new (and untried) head coach, a new coaching team and the biggest turnover of players in the league mean that where things go is anyone's guess.

The preseason has been better than I expected. The win against Saracens, who brought a very decent pack to Mattioli Woods Welford Road, was an exercise in problem-solving, while the away win against a Harlequins side that had clearly been selected to provide a morale-boosting home victory was even more impressive.
