LEICESTER Lions continued their fine record at the Perry Barr Stadium with a 50-40 win over Birmingham Brummies in the Midlands derby, writes Alan Jones.
In their seven previous visits, Lions had a record of five wins, one draw and one defeat at the venue.
The Brummies were immediately on the backfoot as Leicester opened with a perfect score of 10-2 after two races.
On each occasion, the Lions pairings were ahead of their opponents as they all exited the second bend.
Birmingham though did come into the match by taking the points in three heats through engine failures and an exclusion for the Lions.
