SIX POTENTIAL LOAN SIGNINGS WHO COULD MAKE A DIFFERENCE

- By JORDAN BLACKWELL

IF Leicester City are going to make moves in the January market, it’s likely they will target loans. Amid uncertainty around Profit and Sustainability Rules, it’s a cheap way of adding players that could genuinely improve the team.

Of City’s three loanees so far, two have been hits, with Jordan James perhaps the player of the season at this point and with Aaron Ramsey making an impact when he’s been fit. Julian Carranza has not yet made his mark.

Championship clubs are allowed an unlimited number of loanees, but they can only have five in any given matchday squad, and so there's probably a limit of two more for City, unless they cut ties with Carranza.

Here's a look at six Premier League players who could be available, and who could make an impact at City.

1. DAN NEIL

City are said to be interested in the Sunderland midfielder and he seems an ideal short-term replacement for Harry Winks amid doubts around his future.

Neil captained the Black Cats to promotion last season and played a pivotal role at the base of their midfield, but has made just two substitute appearances in the top flight this term.

Sunderland's Africa Cup of Nations contingent may mean opportunities come Neil's way over the next few weeks, but they may not last long.
