First look at school project

FIRST look images of a major £37 million school development have been revealed.

The project for the Castle Rock School in Coalville will include the construction of a two-storey school building and the refurbishment and remodelling of another building.

Several outdated blocks, which formerly belonged to King Edward VII Science and Sport College prior to its 2020 merger with Castle Rock, will be demolished to make way for a modern, high-quality building capable of accommodating up to 1,550 pupils.

The new block will be built on land currently used as playing fields between Castle Rock School and properties in nearby Castle Rock Drive.
