Find family fun for festive season

HOLIDAYS: The Christmas lights in Town Hall Square

FREE and low-cost family fun is being offered over the festive season.

Leicester City Council said it will be offering activities from craft sessions at libraries to free popup panto.

At Central library, in Bishop Street, children can write a letter to Santa or colour in a festive door hanger. Sessions run from 3pm to 6pm, Monday to Thursday.

Beaumont Leys library is inviting youngsters to decorate a Christmas tree ornament on December 20, Highfields library will be making Christmas calendars on December 22, New Parks library will host winter scene crafts and paper plate angels on December 23.

The annual Open exhibition at Leicester Museum and Art Gallery, in New Walk, runs until January 30 and includes work by children.

The medieval Guildhall is offering a free family-friendly ghost tour on December 17.

Free places on the 3pm tour should be booked.
