- By VICTORIA SHIPP

'Gwen shows that, with determination, anything's possible

A NINE-year-old girl from Surrey will be receiving an award from Prince Harry, after inspiring the royal with her strength and spirit.

Gwen Foster from Horley, has been named as a winner in the national 2025 WellChild Awards, having been nominated by her parents, Matthew and Jenny Foster.

The awards are run by WellChild, the national charity for seriously ill children, and celebrate the achievements of seriously ill children and those who care for them.

Gwen was chosen from hundreds of nominations from across the UK to win the Inspirational Child Award, recognising her zest for life in the face of daily medical challenges.

Gwen's mum, Jenny, said: "Whether excelling in school, inspiring others through sports or championing a cause close to her heart, Gwen embodies the spirit of the WellChild Awards, refusing to let her medical needs limit her dreams and proving that, with determination, anything is possible!"
