Tax may just be the mask for schools calling time on classes

I fear some private schools are using the addition of VAT to fees as an opportunity for taking other, sometimes drastic, actions.

A few weeks ago, I was asked to write an article about how the government's decision to charge VAT was forcing schools to close, and severely affecting children, their educational and mental health.

I left saying I couldn't write the article-because I felt it wasn’t true, and I only write the truth.

I believe the owners of some schools have been looking for just such an excuse to sell up for other reasons-such as development-and using the VAT situation as a mask for that.
