Street drinking concerns halts latest off-licence

A city councillor has hit out at growing issues with street drinking in one of Preston's main roads and the number of off-licences in his ward.
It comes as an application for an alcohol licence for the Wisla Delicatessen, in New Hall Lane, was withdrawn despite being due to be heard by councillors.
The deli had applied to sell alcohol between 9am to 10pm on weekdays and 9am to 10pm on Saturdays and 10am to 8pm on Sundays.
They were due to face objections from Lancashire Police, Preston City Council's community safety team and environmental protection teams, Lancashire County Council's trading standards and the Your Housing Group.
