Spudbros appeal puts PNE on takeover alert

Preston North End's unique linkup with Spudbros has put the club in the shop window for a possible takeover.

That's the view of PNE's CEO Peter Ridsdale who revealed this week that he has fielded tentative enquiries from potential buyers over the summer.

It was at the end of June when North End announced their partnership with the Preston-based jacket potato business - turned social media sensations

They have become the front-of-shirt sponsor for all first team playing kit for at least this season.

Created by Jacob and Harley Nelson, SpudBros have a TikTok following of 4.2 million and one million YouTube subscribers.

They have collaborated with Lidl and KFC and made viral content, selling spuds to the likes of Will Smith, Logan Paul and Mr. Beast.
