Science can never be settled and is open to revision

Letter of the day
Andrew Blewett claims to be a scientist demanding that "We need rational conversation on climate change." (Letters, November 14) and yet he consistently chooses to ignore the guiding principles of scientific integrity that in fact science is never settled and should be open to revision based on new evidence.
Unfortunately he chooses to disregard the evidence of history.
Nobody denies that changes are occurring but this is nothing new as is evidenced by ice core, sedimentary and stalagmite records.
During the 600 balmy years of the Roman Warm Period 2,000 years ago temperatures exceeded those of today allowing crops and humanity to flourish.
