Parking company secures consent for ANPR camera
Lancashire Evening Post
|November 15, 2025
A numberplate recognition camera installed in a Garstang car park without planning approval has been granted retrospective permission.
Signs warning of an ANPR camera were covered up for several months
The camera is thought to have caught thousands of motorists overstaying the 'three hours for free' limit outside Booths supermarket.
But the recent realisation that the tower-mounted spy in the sky did not have official permission has not led to the cancellation of any parking fines.
