One in six households in the county are not in work

One in six households in Lancashire were not in work last year, new figures suggest.
Office for National Statistics (ONS) figures show there were 64,908 workless households in Lancashire in 2024, which accounted for 16% of all households in the area.
It was down from 83,051 and 21% the previous year.
Across Britain, more than 3m households were not in work last year, representing just over 14% of all households.
In the North West, 17% of households were not in work last year.
