Wigan boss Ryan Lowe has revealed his admiration for Preston North End after he was handed a reunion with his old club in Monday’s FA Cup third-round draw.

Lowe spent three and a half years in charge at Deepdale before departing in the aftermath of a 2-0 home defeat against Sheffield United in the first game of last season.

After spending seven months out of the game, Lowe was appointed as Wigan manager in March and is hoping to lead his side back into the Championship this season.
