A school in rural Preston was closed yesterday due to safety concerns in the wintry weather.

Preston saw its first snowfall on Sunday with surfaces around the region quickly becoming slippery when it started at around 3pm. In addition, temperatures widely dropped to around -7C so where snow turned to rain has had an additional impact on surfaces.
