More businesses were created in Preston in the final quarter of last year, new figures show.
It bucks the trend seen across the UK, as a record low number of companies were launched in the same period.
Figures from the Office for National Statistics show 165 new businesses were created in Preston in the three months to December.
It was up from 150 over the same period the year before.
