Brave Kacey wins gold just a year after transplant

A brave youngster has defied the odds to overcome a serious medical condition and win gold at the British Transplant Games.
Four-year-old Kacey Ogg competed in the 2025 British Transplant Games in Oxford, winning gold and bronze medals.
The defiant youngster, from Chorley, became seriously ill at just eight weeks old, in December 2020, due to a blood clot preventing his small intestine from receiving blood.
He had three major surgeries at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital in Liverpool and each time, his devastated parents were told he would not survive.
