Even its architect Mr Farage has admitted that it hasn't gone to plan.

The Brexit vote was hardly resounding. 'Leave' won, obviously, but less than 40 per cent of eligible voters were sufficiently moved to cast a positive vote for 'Leave'.

Fewer cast a positive vote for 'Remain' but it's likely that nonvoters were content with the status quo. It is corret that the UK needs stability.
