PDSA Vet Nurse Shauna Walsh answers all your pet questions

PDSA advice on keeping pets fit and healthy.

Dear PDSA, my dog seems much stiffer on walks now it's colder, especially first thing in the morning. Is this just his age or something to worry about? Mark.

Hi Mark, colder weather can make joint stiffness much more noticeable, particularly in older dogs or those with arthritis. While age can play a part, any new or worsening stiffness is worth discussing with your vet, as they can check for arthritis or other joint problems and advise on pain relief or management options.

Dear PDSA, it's been really wet and cold, so we haven't been going out as much. My dog has started chewing things around the house - could this be related? Sophie.
