As many as 23 new homes and two retail units could be coming to New Cumnock Town Centre under new proposals.
Dalry-based Wilsons Auctions has earmarked land at the town's 28 Castle for possible development.
The firm previously submitted a Planning Application in Principle to East Ayrshire Council for consideration, which has now been approved.
Agents in the proposals is Edinburgh-based Ferguson Planning.
