ADQ acquires majority stake in Aramex

Abu Dhabi's sovereign investor, ADQ, has announced the successful completion of a tender offer, resulting in its acquisition of a 58 per cent stake in logistics firm Aramex.

This strategic move positions ADQ as the majority shareholder in Aramex, further enhancing its commitment to strengthen the UAE's logistics capabilities.

The acquisition was made possible through a tender offer that enabled ADQ, via its subsidiary Q Logistics, to purchase an additional 35.31 per cent stake in Aramex. Prior to this transaction, ADQ held a 22.69 per cent stake through the Abu Dhabi Ports Group, in which it is the majority stakeholder.

Mansour AlMulla, deputy group chief executive officer at ADQ, stated: “As the majority shareholder in Aramex, we plan to leverage our extensive track record of growing local companies into globally competitive market leaders for the benefit of Aramex and all its stakeholders.” He highlighted the importance of Aramex within ADQ's Transport & Logistics cluster, which includes prominent entities such as AD Ports Group, Abu Dhabi Airports, Etihad Airways, and Etihad Rail.
