US President Donald Trump and _ Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ended a closed-door White House meeting without a breakthrough on Iran policy, underscoring widening strategic tensions as Washington pursues nuclear diplomacy with Tehran despite mounting military pressure in the region.
‘The three-hour meeting on Wednesday —their seventh since ‘Trump returned to office — came amid escalating fears of confrontation with Iran. While Netanyahu has pushed for a harder line, Trump later said he insisted negotiations must continue.
“There was nothing definitive reached other than I insisted that negotiations with Tran continue to see whether or not a deal can be consummated,” Trump said in a social media post. “If it can, that will be a preference. If it cannot, we will just have to see what the outcome will be.”
Netanyahu's brief readout said the talks covered Iran negotiations, Gaza and wider regional developments, but offered no sign of alignment on next steps.
