No Compromise on Patient Care, SKIMS Autonomy to Be Restored: Itoo

Srinagar: The government is committed to restoring the autonomous status of the Sheri-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS), Soura, Health and Medical Education Minister Sakeena Itoo said on Monday.
Replying to a question raised by Legislator Pirzada Farooq Ahmad Shah in the Legislative Assembly, the Minister described SKIMS Soura as a premier health institution established in 1976 under the visionary leadership of Sheikh Muhammad Abdullah to provide advanced medical care facilities to the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
She said that the government is determined to restore the institute’s autonomous status while reviving its “pristine glory.”
