Army Tightens Winter Vigil Along LoC in Jammu

The Indian Army has intensified patrols in the higher reaches of the Jammu region to prevent infiltration and maintain constant vigil over sensitive areas along the Line of Control (LoC) even as there has been absence of heavy snowfall.

Officials told KNO that the Army has strengthened its presence along high ridges, dense forests, and mountain passes - regions that usually become inaccessible after heavy snowfall.

"The lack of snow this season could potentially be exploited by terrorists attempting to infiltrate these areas. In districts like Rajouri and Poonch, there are several mountain caves where infiltrators often hide after crossing the border," they said.
