MAJOR PROJECT TO GIVE MONUMENTS A BOOST
-
THANET is highlighting its rich heritage with a major project to restore and preserve some of its most cherished war memorials.
Thanet District Council has launched a wide-reaching refurbishment programme that will breathe new life into dozens of monuments across the district, each a tribute to the people and events that have shaped the area's history.
Following a comprehensive survey, 25 war memorials on public land were identified as most needing care.
